Welcome!

I offer caring, professional instruction in voice and piano at my studio in Pelham, Alabama (just south of Birmingham). For beginning students, we start with the basics of music theory, sight reading, musicianship, and ear training.

To more experienced students, I offer assistance with technique, interpretation, and preparing for auditions and competitions.

I provide regular opportunities for my students to perform at concerts, recitals, and less formal occasions where they can gain self-confidence through musical expression.

I offer a no-obligation initial interview/consultation at which we'll go over my policies and expectations, I'll answer any questions you may have, and I'll listen to the student sing or play. If you have a prepared piece, that's great, but just a verse of something like a hymn or patriotic song will do just fine also. For voice students, we'll also explore your vocal range and discuss initial singing goals.

Current Rates: Spring 2010 through Summer 2010

I run a Spring term and Fall term of sixteen lessons each and a summer term of eight lessons.

Lesson Length	Tuition Rate
75 minutes	$150 / month
60 minutes	$120 / month

Each lesson includes 15 minutes of computer lab time or sight-reading instruction.

For the Spring and Fall terms, there is also a $100 materials fee. First-time students beginning in the summer may pay a reduced materials fee. Continuing students will not pay a materials fee in the summer term.
