My daughter, Katie, started taking voice lessons from Heather when she was 4 years old. Katie is now a member of the ASFA music program and the Birmingham Children’s Choir. Katie has won several state and regional voice competions. Heather played a large role in giving Katie the guidance and music expertise to allow her to succeed. Heather made the lessons fun, and her knowledge and passion for music shows in her exceptional teaching skills. Katie loves all aspects of music and Heather is a wonderful mentor.

 

Heather adds: ASFA stands for the Alabama School of Fine Arts, which is a very elite public fine arts school that students audition to get into. Over 200 students auditioned for 25 spaces in the incoming class, and Katie was one of the few accepted in vocal music. She was a 6th grader at the time.

Our two sons have done great with piano lessons from Heather. It's sometimes challenging to work piano, baseball, band and football into our schedules but it is well worth the effort. Heather has been patient with putting up with our very active boys and they have progressed so much in a short period of time. Watch out Heather, son number three will soon be ready to start piano.

Our daughter made tremendous progress in the development of her singing voice while working with Heather. Heather became my daughter's voice teacher in the Fall of 2008. Although my daughter had been taking voice lessons for 1 1/2 years before that and was also involved in church and school choir programs, Heather was just what she needed. First, Heather has the heart of a teacher, which is vital for instructing young people. Additionally, she is passionate about music and helps her students to discover the joy musical expression brings to the one who sings and to those who listen! Finally, she is a great encourager to her students without compromising her standards that they must work hard to cultivate the talent God has given them.
